Inspections

Log the visit while you're still stood at the hive.

Queen seen, brood in all stages, temper, stores, weather and temperature — tick it off in seconds. Every record stacks up into a history you can actually read back next spring.

Disease alerts

Know when foulbrood turns up near your bees.

My Apiaries reads the APHA National Bee Unit's published findings and tells you how many confirmed cases sit within 20km of each of your sites. American and European Foulbrood and Asian Hornet, plotted across England, Wales and Scotland.

Data: APHA National Bee Unit / BeeBase — Open Government Licence v3.0.

Sites and forage

Your apiaries on the map, and what's in flower around them.

Drop each site on the map with its foraging radius, then check the forage guide month by month — 51 plants in bloom in July alone, with nectar and pollen ratings, flower colour and habitat.

The rest of the season, covered.

Calendar

Logged and scheduled inspections on one month view, so a seven-day check never quietly slips to fourteen.

Equipment stock

Brood boxes, supers, excluders, feeders and frames — what you own, what's on a hive, and what's actually spare.

Packing list

Tick off the smoker, the fuel, the suit and the spare boxes before you drive to the out apiary, not after.

Hive layout

Build each colony box by box. The stack you see in the app is the stack stood in the field.

Stats

Brood and honey frames over time, per colony, so you can see which queens are earning their keep.

Yours alone

Records live on your iPhone and sync through your own iCloud. No account, no sign-up, no server of ours.

Questions.

Does it cost anything?

No. My Apiaries is free.

Do I need an account?

No. Open the app and start recording. If you use iCloud, your records follow you to your other devices automatically.

Does it work without a signal?

Yes. Inspections are written to the phone. Maps and disease data refresh when you're back in range.

Where do the disease alerts come from?

Published APHA National Bee Unit / BeeBase findings for England, Wales and Scotland, under the Open Government Licence v3.0. They are an indication of nearby risk, not a substitute for inspecting your own colonies or contacting your Bee Inspector.

Is there an Android version?

Not today. My Apiaries is an iPhone app.

Built by a beekeeper. Say hello.

Found a bug, want a plant added to the forage guide, or think something is missing? Write in — every message is read by the person who makes the app.
